Climate Change and its Impact on Commercial Real Estate

Join us for networking, a buffet luncheon and a panel presentation and discussion on Climate Change and its impact on the entire commercial real estate life cycle.

Climate change poses risks to commercial real estate due to increased sea levels, natural disasters, and extreme weather conditions.  In addition, commercial real estate plays a part in exacerbating climate change by releasing emissions created from its construction, upkeep, and operations.

Extreme weather conditions created by climate change such as flooding, wildfires, draughts, and heatwaves can directly impair the performance and longevity of buildings and infrastructure.  Unfortunately, climate change’s impact on temperate, rainfall, storm patterns, rising sea levels, and other environmental processes is expected to worsen incoming years.  If more sustainable practices do not help to curtail emissions, the impacts could be catastrophic.

There is a need to address climate risk as it plays a critical role in bolstering our economy.  Come to listen to our assembled panel of experts discuss climate change and how to better manage exposure by designing environmentally friendly properties and utilizing energy-efficiency technology to create substantial cost savings and to adapt to upcoming regulatory changes.
