ATTENDEE LIST (Name / Company)
Building Wilmington's Future:
From Early Learning to Workforce Readiness
Don't miss out on what will be a very inspirational, informative and all-around fun lunch event with an awesome cast for our presentation. Always a great networking opportunity, so arrive early and get the most out of the networking and "Meet & Greet" time beginning at 11:15.
Our Moderator, Christopher Bruce, will introduce you to Linda Jennings, Jarrett Royster and Kenyetta McCurdy-Bryd -- the leaders of three City of Wilmington-based non-profits that are "building" a bright future for Delaware's youth. Empowering youth from "cradle to career" and making a big difference which will grow even larger with the completion of these new facilities.
Mr. Chris Bruce will lead the discussion for a better understanding of the transformative nature of these projects in the City and the resulting opportunities that come from strong communities that attracts investment, workforce stability that drives office occupancy, childcare availability for recruitment, and the availability of mixed-income housing. We will be taking a look at human capital and its impact on the future of our City and State.
The construction of each of the buildings are being managed by CIRC's own members: GGA Construction for the Community Education Building (CEB) and Youth Development Center and EDiS for the new Kingswood Community Center.
Non-Profit Organizations Participating:
The YMCA of Delaware is expanding access to high-quality, affordable childcare in Wilmington with the opening of the YMCA Early Learning Academy. Launching Spring 2026 at the Community Education Building’s (CEB) new Youth Development Center on Wilmington’s East Side, the Academy will offer high-quality, inclusive early childhood education for children from infancy through pre-K, serving up to 100 children. Located at 12th Street and Clifford Brown Walk, the YMCA Early Learning Academy will be housed within the CEB’s nearly completed 11,000-square-foot Youth Development Center, a vibrant, community-driven space designed to support children and families through education, enrichment, and wraparound services.
REACH Riverside Development Corporation, formed in 2017, serves as the community quarterback for revitalizing Wilmington’s Riverside neighborhood using the Purpose-Built Communities model focused on housing, education, and health. As the managing partner of The WRK Group, alongside Kingswood Community Center and The Warehouse REACH has helped raise $371 million for this 14-year, resident-centered transformation. Central to the effort is Imani Village, a 700-unit mixed-income housing development replacing former public housing, with early phases complete and full buildout planned by 2031. Kingswood Community Center, a neighborhood anchor since 1946, provides cradle-to-cane services including a nationally recognized Early Learning Academy, economic vitality programs, and senior services, with plans underway for a new 81,000-square-foot facility. The Warehouse complements this work by serving over 450 teens annually with paid workforce development training and enrichment programs that prepare young people for long-term success.
